Allenby Students Fundraising

My visit to Allenby Junior P.S. this past Wednesday morning was an exhilarating experience.

A few short weeks ago, the students of room 215 embarked on a journey to learn about the tragedy facing the Syrian people but they didn't just read about it, they took action. They organized themselves into groups and planned their own fundraising events around our Allenby community.

Through their efforts, they raised almost $1500.00 for Allenby Community Welcomes Refugees and I was pleased to present to them the first ever "Pay it Forward Award" on behalf of ACWR.

Those faces, filled with pride reflect the pure spirit of giving and reinforce, for me the meaning of what we are trying to do. These kids are an inspiration, plain and simple.
