Stories of Giving

One of the great things about reaching out to people is the surprising things you get back.

I have met some new friends and spoken about life and death with relative strangers and found that our common humanity is the plasm that binds us and carries us forward. It is the greatness.

So many people are giving of themselves to meet this demand, And yes, giving money is giving of yourself. A transfer of means from one strata to another with the understanding that we are together on this planet, is a profound committment.

People who are relatively helpless, need our help and we can choose to do that. We can choose.

Jafar Hussain's grade six class at Allenby Junior P.S., is learning about the Syrian Refugee Crisis. They wanted to do more. They organized themselves and had a bakesale on Eglinton Ave. in the middle of winter on December 30th. Despite the odds, they raised 122.05 and donated it to our cause that evening. Their enthusiasm epitomizes the true spirit of what we are trying to do.

They took action and made a difference.

We ask everyone to consider this and carry our efforts forward.
